Parents and Teachers As Allies

This free, two-hour in-service program helps school professionals identify the early warning signs of early-onset mental illnesses in children and adolescents in schools. It focuses on the specific, age-related symptoms of mental illnesses in youth, how best to intervene, and shares the lived experiences of consumers and families.

In-service ropics include:

  1. Recognizing early-onset mental illness in children and adolescents
  2. Understanding family reactions to mental illness and guidelines for helping families
  3. Learning about available community resources
  4. Strengthening the alliance between parents and school professionals
