Position: NAMI Young Adults Social Media Intern
Status: Part-time Internship 
Salary: $600

NAMI Utah is seeking an intern to help grow social media presence of NAMI Young Adults (NAMI YA) on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant social media platforms.  The intern will work closely with the Young Adult Coordinator and the NAMI Voices chair to help promote events, create advocacy campaigns, and help reduce mental health stigma.

Job Responsibilities Include:

-          Making regular social media posts to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

-          Helping create campaigns for mental health advocacy and reducing mental health stigma

-          Meeting regularly with the Young Adults Coordinator and completing assigned tasks as needed

-          Setting and achieving outreach goals, and providing, regular, weekly feedback on progress

-          Working with NAMI Voices to assist with online advocacy efforts and other social media-related projects

-          Working with Events and Activities to promote events

Requirements:

-          Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms

-          Creativity in creating campaigns and marketing events

-          Interest or willingness to learn of the importance of mental health advocacy and stigma reduction

-          A proactive attitude and the ability to be self-directed in work, at times with minimal direction

Compensation:

-          $600 at the completion of internship in May 2017

This positions requires (5) hours of work a week at the NAMI Utah offices, with remote work as approved.  Hours are flexible, with one scheduled in-office meeting a week to coordinate efforts with Young Adult Coordinator and NAMI Voices Chair.  The time commitment for the internship is the hiring date until May 30, 2017.

NAMI Young Adults shares NAMI’s mission, but focuses on providing increased opportunities for young adults to share their story, help eradicate stigma associated with mental illness, and give back. We seek to bring together those who have had experience with mental health conditions and all who are passionate about the cause. We reach out, listen, and speak up.

NAMI Utah is seeking an intern to help assist with NAMI Young Adults graphic design projects.  The intern will work closely with the Young Adult Coordinator and the NAMI Voices chair to create flyers, social media posts, and images that are both eye-catching and informative.

Job Responsibilities Include:

-          Creating graphics for social media posts and flyers

-          Meeting regularly with the Young Adults Coordinator and completing assigned tasks as needed

-          Working with NAMI Voices to assist to create appropriate graphics for advocacy efforts and other social media-related projects

-          Working with Events and Activities to create flyers, posters, and graphics for event promotion

Requirements:

-          Some graphic design experience

-          Creativity in creating campaigns and marketing events

-          Interest or willingness to learn of the importance of mental health advocacy and stigma reduction

-          A proactive attitude and the ability to be self-directed in work, at times with minimal direction
